Star Eyes — THE NIGHT
Following the success of her dance floor-storming White Gloves EP, Trouble & Bass’ queen of darkness returns to the label with something completely different. “The Night” finds Star Eyes spreading her bat wings on a full-vocal tune that she calls her “goth dubstep love song.” This is romance as you’ve never heard it before – full of purple atmospheres, heart-grabbing synth work, and incredible bass offset by sweet vocals (written and sung by Star Eyes herself) that speak to the magic of the midnight hour.
While Star Eyes’ original track is an ideal set-closer, radio spin, or dubstep slow-dance number, the remixes take things straight to the heart of the dance floor. Scotland’s Hostage turns in the ultimate rave anthem of the past and present, mixing soaring 1992 piano breakdowns with futuristic production and the hardest kicks this side of the UFC. T&B’s dark soldier Deathface adds a touch of brutality, dropping angelic breakdowns into nasty dubstep bass and metallic sounds guaranteed to create a mosh pit in minutes. Sacramento duo Bad Looks rounds out the package with a 140-bpm future bass workout full of clever drum work, low-rider low-end and plenty of special effects under the hood. An awesome kick-off to 2012: another apocalyptic year of Trouble & Bass madness!
